What is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle Japanese energy-healing practice. During a session, I use light touch or place my hands just above the body to support relaxation and a sense of balance. Many people describe feeling deeply relaxed, peaceful, or more connected to themselves afterward. I don't diagnose or treat medical conditions. Reiki is complementary to traditional healthcare.

Reiki is based on the idea that we have a life-force energy flowing through us. When we're stressed or emotionally overwhelmed, we may feel out of balance. Reiki is intended to support the body, mind, and spirit in returning to a more balanced state.

Do I need to believe in Reiki?

No. You're welcome to be curious, skeptical, neutral, or somewhere in between. No belief system is required to receive a session or to feel its effects.

Is Reiki the same as massage?

No. There is no manipulation of muscle or tissue. You stay fully clothed, and hand placements are light and still — or just above the body if you prefer hands-off.

What should I wear?

Something comfortable you can rest in — soft layers, easy fabrics. You'll stay fully clothed, with a blanket if you'd like one.
